Entry in support of an Artist residency proposal for the Horniman Museum, 2016

One thing I’ve been drawn to when looking through the Horniman’s South Asia collection is the small collection of wooden toy animals, including a Bengal tiger. It occurred to me that, with elongated legs, squashed face and twisted tail, the shape of this toy when compared with a living breathing Bengal tiger seems bizarre, both comical and thought-provoking.

Entry for The Hive Brighton’s J&B Whiskey Label Competition, 2016

An alternative label for the J&B Whiskey bottle, it features two rather friendly seagulls looking out to a calm moonlit sea and cackling happily together. I tried to capture the character-fullness of Brighton at the end the day, when holiday makers have all gone home and the seaside belongs to the gulls.
